National Truck Driver Appreciation Week

National Truck Driver Appreciation Week (NTDAW), held in mid-September each year, is when America takes the time to honor all professional truck drivers for their hard work and commitment in tackling one of our economy’s most demanding and important jobs. These 3.5 million men and women not only deliver our goods safely, securely and on time, they also keep our highways safe.

TCA's NTDAW Driver Health Fairs

Historically, as part of National Truck Driver Appreciation Week (NTDAW), TCA hosted free driver health fair events at select TravelCenters of America/Petro locations, nationwide. Our state trucking associations and members of TCA's Health & Wellness Task Force helped to make these health fairs possible.

This year, TCA will be partnering up with our TCA Wellness CDL coaches and offering a new approach to the fairs.

TCA Salutes America's Drivers

Throughout the year, TCA conducts multiple programs that recognize drivers for their skills, their positive impact on the industry, their contributions to society, and their heroism. At TCA, "Driver Appreciation" runs 52 weeks per year.

Highway Angel
Thanks to our generous sponsor, EpicVue, TCA’s Highway Angel program is able to recognize hundreds of professional truck drivers for the unusual kindness, courtesy, and courage they have shown others while on the job. Their good deeds range from simple acts of kindness, such as fixing a flat tire, to heroic life-saving efforts, such as pulling someone from a burning vehicle and administering CPR.

Driver of the Year Contests
The best company drivers and owner operators are honored every year at TCA's Annual Convention. Winners have exceptional safe driving records, enhance the image of trucking, serve their communities, and protect our environment.
